Siemens VGF Gas Valves

Siemens VGF gas valves are flanged gas valve bodies designed for safety shut-off and control in industrial combustion systems. They are functionally similar to Siemens VGG valves but differ in their connection method, using flanged fittings rather than threaded connections.

VGF valves are designed to be combined with Siemens SKP actuators and are configured as normally closed. Depending on the actuator type used, they can provide simple safety shut-off, gas pressure regulation, or air–gas ratio control within industrial gas trains.

These valves are widely used in commercial and industrial burners where a compact, integrated gas valve solution is required.

VGF Valves Compared to Other Siemens Gas Valves

Siemens VGF valves are flanged gas valve bodies. By comparison, Siemens VGG valves use threaded connections, while Siemens VGD valves provide dual shut-off for higher safety requirements.

Valve Design and Operation

VGF valves are designed to operate exclusively in combination with Siemens SKP actuators. The actuator determines the functional behaviour of the valve within the gas train.

Depending on the SKP actuator fitted, a VGF valve may operate as:

• ON/OFF safety shut-off valve
• ON/OFF valve with constant pressure control
• ON/OFF valve with differential pressure control
• ON/OFF valve with air–gas ratio control

This integrated design allows multiple control functions to be achieved using a single valve body, reducing the number of components and fittings required in the gas train. As a result, overall system size and weight can be reduced, and smaller valve diameters may be used.

Siemens VGF gas valves can be combined with the following SKP actuator series:

• SKP15 – ON/OFF operation
• SKP25 – ON/OFF with constant pressure control
• SKP55 – ON/OFF with differential pressure control
• SKP75 – ON/OFF with air–gas ratio control
